The 21tst Convocation of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture took place recently at the IVS Campus located at Street-33 Block 2, Scheme 5, Clifton, Karachi. The welcome address and the annual report was presented by the Executive Director, Samina Raees Khan. Zehra Nigah, a prominent Urdu poet and scriptwriter was the eminent Keynote Speaker for the occasion.
This year a total of 124 students received their degrees out which 104 Bachelor degrees were awarded including 17 in Architecture, 11 in Interior Design, 32 in Communication Design, 29 in Textile Design and 14 in Fine Art. In addition, 1 student received a three year Diploma in Fine Art, 10 students received one year Diploma in Digital Film and Video, 6 students awarded with one year Post Graduate Diploma in Apparel Design and 4 students with the Post Graduate Diploma in Photography. Indus Valley School is one of the leading Art Schools in the country and is known for its State of the Art Campus, showcasing the hundred-year-old “Nusserwanjee Building”, a stone structure relocated brick by brick from Kharadar, as well as for training high quality graduates in Art, Design and Architecture. It has strong academic linkages both locally and with overseas universities and institutions. Besides renowned Pakistani Artists and Architects of international recognition are members of its Permanent and Visiting Faculty.
