3rd China Pakistan Engineering Forum (CPEF) Conference

3rd China Pakistan Engineering Forum (CPEF) Conference was held at a local hotel this morning. The international event was organized under the aegis of Pakistan Engineering Council to promote collaboration between Pakistani and Chinese Engineering Organizations in CPEC projects. Engr Murad Ali Shah, ex CM Sindh was the chief guest.

Around 100 leading engineering organizations including a high level 17 members delegation from China attended the moot. CPEF was initiated on sidelines of China’s Belt and Road initiative at Beijing in 2017 to act as a bridge between Chinese and Pakistani engineering organization for CPEC and other Chinese investment projects in Pakistan. The founding Pakistani members of CPEF include Osmani & Co (consultancy), FWO (BOT/PPP), NLC (construction) and DHA (development) etc.

Chief Guest Engr Murad Ali Shah said that CPEC is a frame work of regional connectivity that has great significance for unleashing development in the region. Engr Zhang Ruijie, termed CPEC as an all weather strategic co-operative partnership between Pakistan and China.

Engr Inam Osmani, Sr Vice President PEC outlined the engineering perspective of CPEF for promoting engineering and construction related projects in the country. Engr Arif Osman, focal person CPEF who is also consultant of upcoming DHA City Karachi (DCK) project said that DHA will commence development of DCK including 100 MW Wind Power, 12 MW Solar Power, Malir Expressway and large scale housing projects that will truly impart international stature to DHA City.

Ten MoUs by Pakistani engineering firms to join CPEF as its institutional and strategic members were signed on the occasion.
