66th Pakistan Flower Show 2017

A simple and graceful Prize Distribution Ceremony of 66th Pakistan Flower Show 2017 was held at Horticulture Society of Pakistan (HSP) Garden in DHA Phase-II in which winner organizations, groups and individuals were awarded trophies and prizes. Veteran politician Sardar Sher Baz Mazari was the chief guest of the function. The Annual Flower Show is arranged every year by Horticulture Society of Pakistan (HSP) in collaboration with DHA and CBC.

Mr Sher Baz Mazari appreciated the efforts of HSP for promoting gardens, parks and beautification spots in DHA in particular and in metropolis in general. He said that greenery and flowers symbolically represent environmentalism and growth and signify a positive, progressive and healthy approach towards life. He stressed upon the need for constantly enriching environment and for keeping the gardening spirit alive.

President HSP Mr Kaleem Farooqui in his address outlined the activities of his organization and explained the transparent and stringent evaluation system of HSP for the Flower Show Competition. He said that HSP was passionately engaged in giving greener and beautiful environment to Karachi.

DHA Nursery Phase VII (Extn) got first position in category of Nurseries, DHA Gizri Hill got first position in Beautification of Roundabouts, DHA Tooba Masjid was declared first in Masjid Gardens while DHA Head Office Masjid Mustafa was second. Flag Staff House and Administrator DHA House got first position in Gardens of Official Bungalows large and small respectively. DHA Nisar Shaheed Park was declared the best park in the category of large parks followed by Defence Authority Zamzama Park as second.

DHA clinched the overall first position in the Flower Show by a huge margin and was awarded the coveted Abdul Sattar Pirzada Trophy which is manifest of the dynamic vision, attitude and creative approach of the organization.

Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali lauded the splendid efforts of DHA Horticulture Directorate. He said that DHA is committed to promotion of greenery and plantation in the area to provide aesthetically vibrant living environment to its residents.
