Administrator’s Site Visit on Laying of 132 KV Cable in DHA Phase-VIII

A 132 KV underground transmission line (between Creek City Grid and Cogen Grid) in DHA Phase-VIII is meant to provide interlinking loop to Creek City Grid Station. This power cable is a backup power line which can provide alternate route for electric supply coming to Phase-VIII from Mahmoodabad Grid Station to ensure uninterrupted, continuous and sustainable electric supply in the area. The cable was however damaged in 2013 and was lying idle since then. KE is now replacing the damaged cable for which M/s Burqtron has been awarded the project. 90% of on ground work has been completed.

Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali visited the cable laying site where the hi-tech work is going on speedily. He was briefed about the salient features, technical specifications/SOPs and the progress of ongoing work on the site by the engineers of Ms Burqtron. Administrator inspected the cable and appreciated the technical precision, professional commitment and engineering excellence with which the project was being executed.

Administrator said that DHA is determined to provide best infrastructural/civic facilities to its residents that have the potential to enrich their lives. He added that Phase-VIII is being developed as a model and vibrant phase showcasing the progressive image of DHA. He reiterated that the left over sectors of Phase-VIII will be opened for construction as soon as the availability and sustained supply of water, electricity and gas in the area is ensured for which DHA was making concerted efforts with the relevant agencies.
