All Karachi Inter School Declamation ContestAll Karachi Inter-School Declamation Contest was held at Defence Authority Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed (SKBZ) College. Students of 23 reputed schools of the metropolis participated in the contest and spoke on various serious and humorous topics of interest. Mr Abbas Hussain, Director Teachers Development Centre, Karachi was the chief guest of the function.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Abbas Hussain emphasized upon the need of promoting a culture of healthy co-curricular activities in educational institutions which was vital for intellectual and physical development of students’ faculties. He said that the art of speaking effectively and fluently adds to the confidence of a person and ensures his success in life. He stressed upon the need of promoting oratory skills at school/college level for personality development of students.

He appreciated the content and style of presentation of speeches by the students and gave them some important tips for further refinement of their oratory skills. He also commended the ability of the College for organizing an event of intellectual and literary significance in a meticulous and innovative manner.

Earlier, Principal of the College, Brig Shahid Saleem Lone in his welcome address said that the art of communication was the most important ingredient of human personality and a stepping stone forward for success in life. He said that declamations, debates and discussions provided the students a forum for enlightenment of mind and develop leadership qualities in them.

All Karachi Inter School Declamation ContestIn Group A of Declamation Contest, Shahdeer Ali of Defence Authority Public School (O&A Levels) Sea View got the first position, Mobin Arif of Happy Home School secured the second position and Mohsin Ahmed of Defence Authority Model High School, Phase-VII was adjudged third.

In Group B, 1st position was grabbed by Humza Syed of Jaffer Public School, while 2nd position was clinched by Subata Khurram of PECHS Girls School and the 3rd position was taken by Farheen Malik of Mama Parsi School.

The running trophy was won by Jaffer Public School in Group B and Happy Home School in Group A. The Judges of the declamation contest were Ms Fatima Shahabuddin, Ms Ishrat Mateen and Mr Naeem Haider.
