The annual prize distribution ceremony of DHA Montessori was held recently. Mr. Abbas Husain, Director, Teachers’ Development Centre was the chief guest of the function.
Mr. Abbas Husain said that the primary goal of a Montessori system is to help children in their formative age to reach their optimum potential in all areas of life. He added that purposeful activities embedded in Montessori syllabus help to promote development of social skills, emotional growth and physical co-ordination of children.
He exhorted the teachers to nurture and develop the emotional intelligence of children with utmost care and devotion. He advised the teachers to handle and groom the young children with love and tenderness. He said Pakistan came into being after great sacrifice and it is our duty to safeguard its interests. No doubt, it is Allah’s great blessing to us.
Earlier the Principal of the Institute, Ms. Ayesha Wasti in her welcome address said that Montessori education required focusing on development of skills, refinement of senses and formation of a base for personality development. She said that Montessori system meant education for life and it began from the hour of the birth of a child.
The young kids beaming with confidence looked spectacular in their colourful costumes. They presented musical rhymes and delightful and magnificent plays which were highly applauded by the guests.
At the end chief guest distributed prizes amongst the students who excelled in various academic and learning activities.
