Annual Prize Distribution Function and Students’ Council Oath Taking Ceremony of Defence Authority Degree CollegeThe Annual Prize Distribution Function and Student’s Council Oath Taking Ceremony of Defence Authority Degree College for Women Phase-VIII was held on 4th April, 2012. Chairman Rotary Club, Mr Faiz Kidwai was the chief guest of the function.

The newly elected members of the Students’ Council took oath of their offices in a simple and graceful ceremony held in College’s Auditorium. The chief guest later distributed badges amongst the council members.

Mr Kidwai congratulated the members of the newly installed Students’ Council of 2012 and advised them to discharge their onerous responsibilities with courage, vision and fair play. He said that sincerity and truth must remain the galvanizing principle in discharge of their duties.

He added that the College had a glorious history and was not only well known for its achievements in academics but was also distinguished for imparting a wholesome and balanced training to its students.

The Chief Guest appreciated the College for maintaining its glorious traditions of academic excellence which was evident from the top position in Board and University level examinations consistently secured by their students every year. He said that the focus of all curricular and co-curricular activities of the College should remain towards development of an all round, well groomed and enlightened personality of students.

The Acting Principal, Prof Samia Sadia in her welcome address said that the courses of studies and other activities at the college were designed to optimize development of intellectual, moral and physical potential of students. She said that all the educational activities were focused towards producing confident, self-reliant and forward looking individuals who could succeed in practical life and contribute positively for the society.

In the end, the chief guest awarded prizes to the distinguished students who excelled in various curricular, co-curricular and sports activities. Afreen Adil received the ‘Player of the Year’ Award.
