The annual prize distribution function of Defence Authority Model High School Phase-VII was held at the School’s auditorium in which the students presented a fabulous variety programme. Mr Fashiuddin Khan, Chairman Board of Secondary Education Karachi, was the chief guest of the function.
Mr Fashiuddin said that the strength of a nation was dependent on the educational and technical prowess of its people. He emphasized that the best way to make the nation strong was to invest in promotion of education. He elaborated that education was a potential power that could bring success and glory to the nation.
He emphasized on the need to inculcate reading habits in students which was essential for development of a wholesome personality. He urged the students to regularly read newspapers and magazines to improve their knowledge and outlook towards life.
He appreciated the impressive performance of students in academics and other co-curricular activities and advised them to keep striving hard for achieving excellence in life.
Earlier the Principal, Ms Uzma Mahmood in her welcome address highlighted the achievements of the students in various academic and co-curricular activities. She reiterated that the educational programmes at the school focused on producing confident, dynamic and forward looking individuals who could succeed in practical life.
The students enacted an Urdu play based on a novel theme, ‘Allama Iqbal and the contemporary culture of modern era’. The presentation of an English play, ‘Then Fall of Caesar’ was superb. National songs presented by students choir were full of vigour, enthusiasm and determination that characterize the youth of the nation.
At the end the chief guest distributed shields and certificates among the students, faculty members and staff of the School.
