Art Mandala with Mahin Hassan at T2F

The word ‘Mandala’ comes from the Sanskrit word for ‘circle’. However, it means more than just the shape and also encompasses the idea of wholeness and unity. Mandalas are often created as a form of self-expression and exploration of internal world.

In this workshop they will be simply starting with circles and will be filling them with different patterns, colours and symbols using different surfaces like canvas, ceramic plates, boards, paper etc. The process of drawing and filling in a Mandala is very calming. The structure of the circles serves both to provide a sense of containment and to decrease anxiety. They will be creating Mandalas as an art therapy which can be a wonderful activity, for both adults and kids, for centering, meditation, emotional expression, and self soothing.
