Award Function on World Postal Day held at DA Model High School Phase-IV


World Postal Day is celebrated universally on 9 October to promote sustainable development of universal postal service of high quality accessible to all citizens. Pakistan Post Karachi held an award ceremony on the auspicious occasion at Defence Authority Model High School Phase-IV to honour a brilliant student of the school who secured first position in Pakistan in the celebrated 46th International Letter Writing Competition 2017. Mr Muhammad Mumtaz-ul-Haq, Divisional Superintendent Karachi Post was the chief guest on the occasion.

The chief guest awarded Cash Prize of Rs. 20,000/-, an Appreciation Certificate and a Postal Stamps Album to Anum Tahir Hashmi, a talented student of Class-VIII for winning the coveted International Letter Writing Competition. He also appreciated the brilliance, excellence and talent of the dynamic student.

Mr Mumtaz-ul-Haq urged the students to develop their skills, sharpen their intellect and to work with diligence to achieve distinction and success in life. He highlighted the significance of letter writing and exhorted the students to participate in intellectually vibrant competitions like letter writing which help develop their confidence, power of expression and inherent writing capabilities.

Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali in a message on the occasion commended the promising young student for her distinctive and brilliant performance. He said that she not only brought laurels for her institution but also for DHA as well. He congratulated the faculty and staff of the school for maintaining high standards of academic excellence. He said that he expected students of DHA Educational Institutions to excel in all fields of educational activities with a sense of distinction and honour.

The Principal Ms Saulat Qasim reiterated that her school was continuously striving hard to upkeep the glorious traditions of the institution by unabatedly achieving top results and positions in various academic and co-curricular activities.
