A Coaching and Awareness Clinic for Badminton was conducted by Malaysian Expert of the game for college students of Karachi at Defence Authority Sunset Club. More than 100 students of different colleges of the metropolis got coaching of modern techniques of Badminton from the Malaysian expert.
Mr Sambindhun Shevaprel, Director Development International Badminton Federation gave very useful and pragmatic lectures out lining the modern techniques of the game and delineated very useful practical tips for playing the game successfully according to international standards. He stressed on physical fitness, game technique, stamina and mental alertness for success in the game. The lecture was followed by practical demonstration.
Mr Sambihdun Sehevaprel addressing the concluding session of the workshop said that youth of Pakistan has lot of potential for Badminton. He lamented that due to non availability of proper infrastructure, training facilities and support / patronage of the government, Pakistani players were not coming up at the international level. He said that there was need to harness the talent of youth and to develop the optimum talent of the potential players.
Secretary Defence Authority Sunset Club, Lt Col (R) Naeem Azhar thanked the Malaysian official for conducting a very useful Badminton workshop and hoped that it will go a long way in promoting game of Badminton at grass roots level in Pakistan. The Director International Badminton Federation at the end distributed prizes among the players and coaches.
