Batain Insha Ji Ki: An ode to Ibn e Insha and his legacy by T2F

Join The Second Floor as they host a conversation between Javed Saba, Amjad Islam Amjad, a poetry recital by Khalid Ahmed and a live performance by Salman Alvi, all in tribute for Ibn e Insha’s 93rd birthday.

About the Participants:

Amjad Islam Amjad:
Amjad is a renowned poet, lyricist, and drama writer. He is the author of forty books, best seller, and his several books have won awards. His career started as a lecturer in M.A.O College Lahore. During 1975 to 1979 he worked as a Director at Pakistan Television Corporation before returning back to College. In 1989 he was appointed as Director General of Urdu Science Board. He received the award for Best Writer of PTV, and his first drama was a hit. Currently his columns are published in the daily Jang.

Khalid Ahmed:
With a Master’s degree from University of California, Davis, Khalid Ahmad was initially trained as an Engineer and taught for many years at NED University, Karachi. All this while his interest in theatre and television continued to grow. In 1981 he finally decided to switch careers and went off to study theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Upon his return he devoted himself fully to the performing arts. Since then his contribution to theatre and television drama has been immense. He also has a long experience of actor training and is presently the Head of Dramatic Studies at the National Academy of Performing Arts, Karachi (NAPA) where he teaches voice and acting.

Salman Alvi:
Salman is a Pakistani ghazal and semi-classical singer from Karachi who is a marketer by profession but an ardent music lover at heart. 37 years into Marketing & Sales, he is a specialist of BTL, Event Management, and heads the launch of all other BTL promotions. He is teaching Brand Management in IBA and running his own business titled, “Genesis Group” as CEO. He also carries a notable experience of serving as the General Manager of Marketing & sales in Habib Group.

Javed Saba:
Javed is a senior journalist working for Express News and the author of two poetry books, Aalam Meray Dil Ka (1989) and Koi Dekh Na Lay (2012). Javed Saba has represented Pakistan many times abroad as a poet. He currently serves as the President for the Association of Television Journalists, and is a dedicated member at the Arts Council of Pakistan
