In her book, Maheen Usmani has sketched complex situations and has conveyed her tales in eloquent manner. Be it funeral etiquettes, woes of an urban city, a good natured complaint from a bureaucrat about his extravagant wife or (late) Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto possessed by his demons, (and hence the name of her debut) Ms. Usmani has successfully painted complex portrayals of different intriguing characters through her smooth, simple brushstrokes!

About the Author:
Maheen Usmani
is an award winning journalist who has worked in powerful media houses of Pakistan. She has made impacting feature reports on gender equality, minority issues, the miseries of refugees, girls education and survival in SWAT and on never-ending armed conflicts, other than a few investigative documentaries.

A look into Maheen’s complex character portrayal will be a major highlight at Readerscafe.
