Defence Authority Degree College for Women, organized the Annual Urdu Play at the college auditorium with great fanfare. Ms Sultana Siddiqui, CEO of Hum Television Network was the chief guest and wife of Administrator DHA was the guest of honour on the occasion.

The Urdu Play titled “angan”, an adaptation of the novel of the same title by renowned novelist Khadija Mastoor was enacted brilliantly by the students. The theme of the play was the struggle and conflicts of a Muslim Family against the back drop of the Pakistan Movement and Partition. Each and every character was complex, intense and emotional in nature but was perfectly enacted by the students with professional expertise and superb acting.

The beautiful set designing of the play and the colorful costumes used carried the pristine flavor of the pre partition and post partition days. The meaning conveyed was of love and sacrifice for the home land Pakistan.

All in all, it was an excellent effort by the organizer and students. “Aangan” is another feat accomplished by D.A College for Women and its Dramatic Society. The play was written and directed by Dr Rubina Sarwar, Head of Urdu Department of the College in an immaculate and commendable manner.
