Defence Central Library

Defence Central Library is one of the prime institutions of Defence Housing Authority Karachi. It was established on 3rd November 1991. DCL has a beautifully designed and artistically decorated building with lush green lawns, fountains and rockeries all around it.

Like any modern library, DCL has a computerized book inventory, modern and speedy Internet facilities, exclusive newspapers & periodicals section, access to digital library of HEC, state-of-art audio visual facilities and a unique Children’s Library fully equipped with modern facilities.

DCL website is periodically updated to provide library information services to the visitors. A detailed account of DCL book inventory, facilities, list of new books, newspaper/periodicals, language programs, auditorium activities as well as rentals can also be seen on the DCL’s website. Members can also check their fee and status of books issued to them on the website.

No doubt, education is the prime focus of DHA and students are not only groomed to the best of standards in the real sense of the word but also given the best of opportunities to excel in co-curricular activities.

DHA has also striven hard to develop the Central Library into a modern centre for research and learning by constantly equipping it with the latest books, publications and internet facilities; organizing lectures and seminars for all-round education and polishing communication skills of students by holding debates, declamation contests, dramas, quizzes etc.
