The Infrastructure Development Works in different Sectors of DHA City Karachi (DCK) are being completed on a fast-track basis in accordance with a versatile development strategy. The pace and quality of construction is reassuring and reinforce the hope that DCK as a trendsetter project will soon emerge on the horizon of the metropolis as a model city of Pakistan to be emulated by upcoming independent cities of the future. The sector wise progress of development of various sectors is stipulated below.
Sector-3 is the prime sector of DCK where the infrastructure and sector development work has been substantially completed and handing/taking over of the sector is in progress. The work on provision of basic facilities/amenities of life including construction of buildings of social/community utility is progressing at a phenomenal pace and will be completed soon before the sector is opened for construction by the end of this year.
Sectors-2, 5 and 7:
The infrastructure development works are in full swing and are being executed with renewed vigour and professional exuberance. The Main Infrastructure Development Works of Sector 5 and Sector 7 are very close to completion while finishing works are going on at full pace.
These works are being executed as per the highest engineering and architectural standards and monitored stringently to maintain the quality control. This will be followed by provision/construction of essential services and social/amenity buildings to make the area livable. These sectors will hopefully be opened for construction in a year’s time.
Roads Network in DCK:
All the major roads/avenues in DCK originating from the entrance point till the last point/edge of the project area have been completed. The wide roads have been constructed maintaining a very high quality and international AASHTO standards.
The specifications of the roads are as per international standards while culverts, bridges and foothpaths are part of the road network. The finishing work of roads is going on with full vigour and speed.
The road networks constructed in the undulating ground of DCK with depressions, valleys and high grounds in the semi hilly terrain in the backdrop of picturesque background is an epitome of engineering excellence and extends to the furthest end of DCK boundary uptil Goth Karim Dad.
Central Business District (CBD):
Central Business District in DCK is a very important arena which apart from being nucleus of business related activities in DCK will have campuses of IBA, Suffa University and other top of the line international institutions of learning.
The infrastructure development in CBD is going on with full vigour and speed while maintaining the highest engineering, construction and architectural standards as per the contemporary trends. The high quality befitting infrastructural facilities of CBC will fully support and augment the construction work of world renowned educational institutions of repute in CBD.
Development Works in Other Sectors:
Full fledged infrastructure development works in Sector-6 (A& B), Sector-9 (A & B), Sector-12 (A & B) are progressing in accordance with the development strategy with speed and quality. The entire area is abuzz with multifarious development activities. Contracts for Sectors-13 and 14 have been awarded and contractors have mobilized to the site to start the development works.
The constructions of extended/redesigned work of DCK Entrance Gate comprising 18 Bays and a double tower which will be visible from distance on Super Highway has started. The construction of Campsite Mosque built beautifully as per the elegant structural design has been completed while finishing furnishing work of Masjid is in progress.
The infrastructure development works of Healthcare District are fastly being completed as per the top of the line quality. The development work is being completed in a befitting manner where as construction work of Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital, a new Campus of DOW Medical University, 500 Beds Teaching Hospital, a state-of-the-art Liver Transplant Centre, a Trauma Centre and campuses of other renowned medical setups of international standards will start soon.
Check Dams have also been completed which will store rain water which will be recharged through underground water that will make the environment better.
