DHA Suffa University (DSU) Signs MOU with Technical University of Applied Sciences, Wildau, Germany


DHA Suffa University (DSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Technical University of Applied Sciences, Wildau (TUAS-Wildau), Germany to establish collaboration in teaching and research activities. The MOU was signed during the visit of TUAS-Wildau by a DSU delegation comprising of its Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Hussain, TI(M), SI(M) and Dean, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, TI.

The President of TUAS-Wildau, Prof. Dr. Laszlo Ungvari expressed his strong desire for a long-term sustainable collaboration between TUAS-Wildau and DSU. The Technical University of Applied Sciences, Wildau is located about 30 miles away from Berlin in Germany and boasts a student population of around 4,600 students. DSU started its academic programs in Fall of 2012 and presently has around 800 students. It aims to grow to a student population of around 2,500 within next four years.

TUAS-Wildau has strong academic and research programs in the areas of Engineering, Information Technology, Bio Technology, Bio Informatics, Renewable Energy, Logistics and Management Sciences. Therefore, there is potential for great synergy between DSU and TUAS-Wildau.

Under the MOU, students of DSU will be able to attend one or two semester for studies at TUAS-Wildau and perform an industrial internship in Germany, arranged by TUAS-Wildau. Other collaboration envisaged by the MOU includes exchange of faculty members, technology transfer for industries, businesses and enterprises, specialized summer camps tailored to DSU requirements and launching of joint degree programs.

The MOU with TUAS-Wildau follows an earlier MOU the University signed with the Eurasia Institute of International Education (EIIE) also located in Berlin for establishment of a German Resource Center at DSU to impart training in German Language to DSU students and others to facilitate the exploitation of educational, industrial and research opportunities provided by German institutions and industries.
