DHACSS College for Women Staged the play ‘The Ghost and Mrs Muir’

DHACSS College for Women staged the play ‘The Ghost and Mrs Muir’ in the College Auditorium. The play was well attended by esteemed guests including Professor Ataka (Ex Consul General of Japan), renowned artists Mr Shakeel, Zeba Bakhtiar and Shagufta Ejaz. The play was written, directed and produced by Ms. Tayyaba Khalil ably assisted by Ms Rizwana Nasim under the guidance and support of the Principal Dr Farhat Agha.

The story unfolds a wonderful romantic fantasy. It is an enchanting tale of a women who after the death of her husband finds herself beguiled by the ghost of an extremely charming Sea Captain who has a wicked sense of humour.

This story is a Kaleidoscope of emotions from tragic to humourous, from love to hatred, from loyalty to betrayal. There was not a single dull moment till its very end. The play was cropped, moulded and reinvented to fulfill the specific requirements with caution not to spoil the basic flavor of this Romantic Fantasy.

The chief guest Mr Shakeel Yousuf greatly appreciated the play and termed it a marvellous effort. He specially admired the acting and costumes of the characters which he said were splendid. Shagufta Ejaz and Zeba Bakhtiar termed the drama as a milestone in the revival of English theatre.
