Free Eye Camp at DHA Head Office by Adamjee Eye Hospital

Adamjee Eye Hospital is a community welfare medical project designed to provide comprehensive eye care including diagnostic, preventive, medical and surgical treatment facilities outreaching individuals who could not reach it. The Hospital satellite unit established a Free Eye Camp at DHA Head Office for employees and residents of DHA where individuals were tested by ophthalmologists/eye specialist for cataract, glaucoma, cognitive uveitis and near/far sight vision.

A lot of rush was seen at the eye camp where people flocked to get their eyes/vision tested on modern diagnostic equipment at the camp. The equipment included auto refractor, slit lamp and lens meter etc. Eyes testing for giving glass numbers for near as well as far sight was also carried out. Free eye drops, ointments and medication was given to those suffering from eyes infections/diseases. People with complicated cases were advised/referred to the Eye Hospital.

Dr Iqtidar Kazmi, Ophthalmologist and Incharge of the Eye Camp said that eye care was very essential for the health and vitality of the human body. He said that free/subsidized surgery for contract, glaucoma and vision correction through refractive process was carried out on state-of-the-medical equipment at the centre.

Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali appreciated the voluntary medical and eye care services extended by Adamjee Eye Hospital for the welfare and wellbeing of community and humanity at large. He said that the noble venture was reassuring and would be instrumental in outreaching qualitative eye care facilities to the masses.

The meticulous administrative/organizational arrangements for establishing the camp were made by Dr Tehseen Ikram Cheema of DHA Medical Centre and her spirited team.
