Inter Schools Hifz-o-Qirat Competition 2014 under the aegis of Defence Authority Iqra Model School Ph-VIII was held at the Auditorium of Defence Authority College for Women Ph-VIII. Prof Dr Muhammad Mushtaq Kalora, President, Department of Islamic Learning, Shipowner Govt Degree College, North Nazimabad and Member Islamic Ideology Council was the chief guest of the function.
Prof Dr Muhammad Mushtaq Kalora emphasized the significance of learning and reciting the Holy Quran and understanding its meanings. He said that Quran was a source of guidance and inspiration for the mankind. He reiterated that recitation of the holy book brings a spiritual and intellectual transformation in a person and greatly impacts human life.
He further said that the spirit of Islam envisaged seeking to strive for constant knowledge and advancement in life while practicing its teachings and values in its real essence. He stated that the best way to follow Quran was to practice its teachings in one’s daily life.
In the Hifz-o-Quran competition Talha bin Tariq of Defence Authority Public School O&A Levels Seaview got the first position while Shofaan Imran of Defence Authority Beachview School and Muhammad Adnan of Defence Authority Model High School Ph-VII were second and third respectively.
In Husan-e-Qirat competition Usama Gulsher of Defence Authority Iqra Model School Ph-VIII clinched the first position, Usman Hasan of Defence Authority SKBZ College was second and Mehmood ur Rehman of Ayesha Bawani Boys Secondary School was declared third.
The overall winning trophy of the competition was won by students of Defence Authority Iqra Model School Ph-VIII. At the end the chief guest distributed prizes among the position holders of the Hifz-o-Qirat Competition.
