About the Instructor:
Muneeb ur Rehman
is an applied drama practitioner, actor, voice over artist and improvisation coach working to establish drama-in-education and community drama as a formalised discipline in South Asia. He received introductory training in applied theatre from DramaBox, Singapore and was the recipient of Tina Sergeant Development Initiative Pass for Singapore Drama Educators Association Conference, 2015. With ten years of acting experience, he has employed theatre for social healing in varying social milieu-from public spaces in Lyari and Islamia Colony to classrooms of Katmandu University. He presented the story of setting up theatre in education in Pakistan, Journey of the First Step, at the Singapore Drama Educators Association Conference, 2017. With various drama workshops in the public domain to his name, he has partnered with schools, psychologists, youth programs, children’s theatre to apply drama meaningfully in all spheres of life. His interest is in enabling drama as a fluid means of exploration and expression for all. He presented a framework for communal wellness using drama at ‘Performing the World’, New York, 2018. Most recently, he conducted drama-for-teaching workshops for Tibetan and Nepali teachers in Nepal. Also, he established “Nepal Improv”, an initiative with Nepali artists from diverse backgrounds for promotion of improvisational theatre in Nepal.
