Independence Day 2018 Celebrations in DHA Karachi


Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated in DHA with traditional zeal and enthusiasm. Functions were held in different Defence Authority (DA) Clubs and DHA Educational Institutions to commemorate the occasion in a festive mood.

Independence Day Function was held at DA Sunset Club with great fanfare in which Acting Administrator DHA Brig Muhammad Shoaib Anwer (R) was the chief guest. The students of DA Model High School Phase-IV imbued with a patriotic spirit presented inspirational national songs, speeches and tableaus in a fantastic manner. The emotional touch of the function revived the spirit of freedom movement launched by Quaid-e-Azam who won us freedom through his relentless and untiring struggle in shape of Pakistan. ceremony was held on the occasion.

In DA Degree College for Women a flag hosting ceremony was held in traditional manner. Later different exciting competitions like musical chair and quiz competitions were held to celebrate the occasion in a befitting manner. Students also made motivational and thought provoking speeches to highlight the significance of Independence Day. The hallmark of the function was inspirational milli naghmas presented by students in their melodious voices which intoxicated and mesmerize the audience.

In Defence Authority Club the occasion was again celebrated with an innovative zeal and energy. Motivational national songs were presented by a group of patriotic students of DA Public School Seaview in a superb manner. Later the famous historical movie ‘Jinnah’ was screened to pay homage to the founder of the nation. Renowned actor Mr Talat Hussain who also played a role in the movie was also present on the occasion.

Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali in a message said that 71th Independence Day celebrations were meant to inculcate the teachings and determination of the great Quaid in youth. He emphasized the underlying spirit of Azadi celebrations by quoting Quaid-e-Azam’s message, ‘Build up Pakistan; higher, firmer and stronger’.
