Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP) Grand Carnival held at DHA Sports Club (Moin Khan Academy)

World Down Syndrome Day was celebrated in form of a grand Carnival organized by Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP) with great fanfare at DHA Sports Club (Moin Khan Academy). KDSP is a progressive organization which advocates the values of acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome living in Karachi by encouraging them to lead fulfilling lives.

DHA as an enlightened organization supports all community oriented initiatives as its corporate social responsibility. DHA accordingly provided the venue and all administrative and security support to KDSP for organizing the carnival in a befitting manner.

The venue of the function was colourfully and innovatively decorated demonstrating love and care of society for the special people. A number of stalls were established at the venue for children and families including Raffle Draw, Face Painting, Games Stalls, Mini Train Rides, Arts and Crafts Exhibition alongwith food stalls. The event provided an opportunity to children with down syndrome to participate in various events and encouraged them to demonstrate their talent potential by participating in various events.

The Carnival was attended by several thousand people; including general public, individuals with down syndrome and other special needs alongwith their families. Presence of renowned celebrities was a source of inspiration and encouragement that collectively demonstrated that an inclusive society is possible where people of all abilities could be celebrated, accepted, and appreciated whole heartedly.
