After much anticipation, ‘Labyrinth of Reflections’ – The Art of Rashid Rana (1992 – 2012) opens at the Mohatta Palace Museum, Karachi on Sunday, 17th February 2013 and will run through till 2014.
Rashid Rana is undoubtedly the most acclaimed artist in Pakistan today and one of the most prominent modern artists in South Asia. The curators of the exhibition at Mohatta Palace Museum are Nasreen Askari (Curator and Director of Mohatta Palace Museum), Naazish Ataullah (Former Principal of the National College of Arts in Lahore and Fellow of the Beaconhouse National University in Lahore) and Hameed Haroon (CEO of the Dawn Media Group and Managing Trustee of the Mohatta Palace Museum).
Incessantly famous for his photo mosaics, Rashid Rana, has reached where no artist from Pakistan has. His work poses questions about urban existence, identity, paradoxical truths and traces the changing facets and effects of globalization and also provides a gripping reminder that the images and stimulations that surround us in modern urban culture are deceptively different than what they may seem.
Address: Mohatta Palace Museum, 7 Hatim Alvi Road, Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan.
