On December 4th, 2013, Department of Management Sciences of DHA Suffa University (DSU) organized a lecture entitled, “The Failure of Public Policy in Promoting Entrepreneurship in Pakistan“. The guest speaker of the session was Mr. S. M. Taha, who is a specialist in the fields of International Studies and Public Policy. Also he is the founder of the Entrepreneurship Development Center at Sarhad University, Peshawar, which was established as a public-private partnership in 2007.
As a Guru of Entrepreneurship in Pakistan, he enlightened the audience with the importance and emergence of entrepreneurship in Pakistan’s economy and highlighted the impediments to setting up small businesses in our society. He motivated the young business students to participate in entrepreneurial ventures rather than looking for jobs. He also proposed the idea of creating a Center of Entrepreneurship in DSU in collaboration with his institute, which was highly appreciated by students and faculty members alike.
