Meditative Mandala Workshop by Humna Mustafa at ArtChowk Open Studio

Humna Mustafa is an award-winning pattern artist, with a passion for working with the traditional decorative arts and crafts of the Indian subcontinent. She is highly influenced by the cultural influences that guide the pattern making process, imbibing it with subtle meanings and depth under the surface beauty.

With her interest in holistic living, she now uses art as a tool to heal, express and explore her creativity and gain healing from her own personal childhood traumas. After attending the foundation year course for Art Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University in London, she now focusses on helping others through her art workshops. She regularly runs her Meditative Mandala Art workshops from her studio in Hitchin London and will be bringing them for the first time to Karachi so people from of the city she still calls home can benefit from it.

Mandalas have been recognized by psychology as a therapeutic tool. Transpersonal psychology sees mandalas as a kind of exercise for deep connection. Cognitive and behavioural psychology see it as a tool to improve things like memory, attention, perception, and visual motor coordination.
