Meeting of CBC and DHA officials to Review the Shortage of Water in DHA/CBC

A meeting of CBC and DHA officials chaired by Administrator DHA Brig Ibrar Hussain Bhatti was held at DHA Head Office to review the existing acute shortage of water in DHA/CBC. The meeting discussed possibility of adopting various proactive options to mitigate the water issues in DHA. Station Commander Karachi and President CBC Brig Riaz Ahmed and CEO CBC Rana Kashif Shahzad were also present on the occasion.

Administrator highlighted the dire need of resolving water scarcity in DHA on emergent basis which is a source of great discomfort for the residents. He said that DHA would augment all efforts of CBC for getting its authorized quota of bulk supply of water from KW&SB. He stressed the need for taking other dynamic and innovative measures for resolution of the problem.

The meeting decided to form a committee of CBC/DHA officials under President CBC to resolve the recurring water issues in DHA/CBC. The committee has been mandated to explore available land in DHA for establishing Desalination and RO plants. The committee would also evaluate the rate (price) of water of such envisaged water plants in context of sale/purchase agreement. It has also been tasked to determine realistic timelines for completion of each stage of the projects to be executed and take all stake holders on board to play their role in order to address the water needs.
