Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro Visits Defence Central Library

Defence Central Library (DCL) is a gateway to knowledge and a landmark symbol of DHA. DCL serves as a repository of knowledge, culture and refinement and has the potential to develop a progressive, enlightened and civilized society. The library is thronged by students, visitors, researchers and avid readers all the time. A number of institutions/delegations also visit DCL regularly to see the exciting and wonderful facilities available at the library complex.

A group of 46 students and two faculty members of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro visited Defence Central Library. The group went round DCL and saw the main library sections, modern computer/internet section, state-of-the-art audio visual facility and children library unique of its kind. The group appreciated the efficacy of DCL specially the air-conditioned, comfortable and conducive reading and learning environment which is an incentive to study and a catalyst for acquisition of knowledge and skills.

The delegation praised DCL and said that the library virtually provides physical and digital access to material with more than 75,000 books and 6000 digital books on its inventory. They described DCL as a store house of knowledge equipped with encyclopedias to references and research books alongwith a section of fiction, science and literature books for reading.

Secretary DCL Ms Aisha Choudhary said that DCL is an institution in itself that promotes learning and conducts educational and literary activities like workshops, seminars and language courses etc. She reiterated that DCL is at the forefront of spearheading a literary movement in the community to foster a wide spread need for knowledge, learning and skill development.
