Administrator DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed inaugurated the newly renovated/upgraded building of Defence Central Library (DCL) in a simple and graceful ceremony held at the library complex. DCL has recently undergone a massive uplifting, renovation and up-gradation process aimed at modernization, improvement and expansion of the library facilities. This will be the first “Disabled Access Friendly” Library of Karachi as it connects main library building with car parking through wheel chair.
The Administrator said that DHA attaches utmost importance to promotion of knowledge and education in society. He added that DCL was being developed as a hub of knowledge and culture and has accordingly been upgraded in a befitting manner. Administrator appreciated the elegant architectural design, aesthetic interior finishing, modern lighting system and the new furniture provided in DCL. He described the new library complex as an exclusive facility that will provide most conducive and intellectually stimulating reading and learning environment to its members.
Brig Zubair Ahmed commended the engineers, contractors, Secretary DCL and the library staff for undertaking the challenging assignment with a reinvigorated spirit and completing it successfully in a record period of time. He said that DCL as a new generation of public library would be catalyst in promoting education and research oriented reading habits in society and emerge as an icon of DHA.
