Oath Taking and Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony 2018 held at DA College for Women

The Oath Taking Ceremony of the Students’ Council 2018-19 was held at the College’s Auditorium in which the newly elected members of the Council took oath of their offices. It was followed by Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of the outstanding sports women of the college in which talented students of the college who showed promise in different sports events were awarded medals and prizes.

The Chief Guest of the programme was Ms Aliya Burney, the Vice Chairman of Sarim Burney Welfare Trust International. The Principal Dr Farhat Agha said that the college provided intellectually vibrant and dynamic programmes to students for overall development of their personality. She highlighted the importance of an elected students’ council considered to be the voice of students and it was imperative on elected representatives to prove worthy of the trust reposed in them. She reiterated that DA College for Women, has a tradition of having free, fair and transparent elections which is democracy at the grass roots level.

The Chief Guest, Ms Aliya Burney praised the efforts of the Principal and the faculty for setting an example and for making DHA College for Women as one of the best colleges of Karachi. She told the students to hold strongly to the values of Islam and to move forward to achieve whatever they aspire to do, for them sky is the limit.

The Oath Taking Ceremony of the students’ Council 2018-19 was an extremely dignified and solemn affair. It will remain as a part of memory and tradition of Defence Authority Degree College for Women.
