Plantation Campaign by Horticulture Society of Pakistan (HSP) in DHA

A tree plantation campaign launched by DHA Horticulture Directorate is going on in DHA with the purported aim to add to the greenery and natural beauty of the Housing Authority. In addition to this, various organizations are also launching mini campaigns in the Housing Authority. The Plant for Pakistan campaign kicked off at AK Khan Park Seaview DHA under the aegis of Horticulture Society of Pakistan (HSP) with great fanfare.

Lt Cen Jahanzeb Arbab (Retd) Chairman HSP and Flower Show Committee who was a very close associate of late Mr AK Khan as well planted Berna Sapling, Crateva and Religiosa plants at AK Khan Park to inaugurate the campaign. He said that keeping the area green and clean was essential to maintain a healthy, vibrant and dynamic environment.

The event was attended by a large number of people including members of HSP and its affiliate, Mr Kaleem Farooqi, Chairman HSP, Commodore Ashfaq Baig Mriza (R) and Dr Farhat Agha who represented HSP Office. Director Horticulture DHA, Lt Col Touqeer Mahmood (R) and his spirited team also attended the event.

At least three different native species have been planned to be planted in the park, which has been named after the HSP legendary founder’s name. The event also coincided with 3rd death anniversary of MR AK Khan, who left us on 6th September 2015.
