“Religions in France” Conference is going to be held at Alliance française de Karachi on Thursday, 13 June 2013 from 6.30pm onwards. Presenter at this Conference (in English) will be Mr. Christian Ramage, Consul General Of France in Karachi.
France is a secular state, where freedom of belief and equality between religions are guaranteed by the constitution of the French Republic. The lecture will present the origin of secularism in France, its historical, political and social roots and it will describe the relations between the French Republic and religions.

Foreign Affairs Counsellor, Christian Ramage joined the Quai d’Orsay in 1983, after serving five years in the National Navy. Graduate in International Economics (Paris IX-Dauphine) in Political Sciences (Paris I-Sorbonne) and Chinese and Cambodian (Langues’O), he is a former auditor of the Institute of Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN). After holding several positions in headquarters and abroad, he is now Consul General of France in Karachi.
