Samoondi by Fringe Karachi Repertory at T2F

Join The Second Floor on 9th & 10th February 2019 at 8pm for a theatrical performance of ‘Samoondi’ directed by Zohair Raza and performed by Islam Khaskheli.

A quasi performance art based on ‘Sur Samoondi’ written by the eminent Sindhi Sufi – Shah Bhittai. Sur Samoondi is a derivative of poorbi raga, which the pristine poet has employed to explain the mission assigned to souls and the diligence required in the vocation of seeking. Employing the allegory of sailing and the vocation of sailors, who have to prepare themselves to face the eventual challenges of gyres, cyclones and high tide, Bhittai has sought to illustrate the arduous path of spiritual enlightenment.
