SZABIST Model United Nations (ZABMUN) 2012

SZABIST Model United Nations (ZABMUN) Society is a student-run organization at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST). It is the premier MUN in the city of Karachi and the largest city-based MUN in Pakistan. The purpose of ZABMUN is to prepare individuals to take ownership and leadership of tomorrow, and to inculcate the ideals of diplomacy, negotiation and reconciliation in them.

Ever since its inception in 2008, ZABMUN has hosted four, 4-day annual Conferences, wherein students celebrate unity in diversity and resort to holistic, pacifist means of conflict resolution. ZABMUN caters to students between the ages of 13-24. This year, we are welcoming Delegates from across the globe.

Through the platform of ZABMUN 2012 Conference, they look towards encouraging the youth to understand the importance of questioning that which needs to be questioned. ZABMUN aim at instilling in participants the need for critical thinking. With “A stronger world for a better UN” as the tagline of the Conference, ZABMUN intend to highlight the fact that the United Nations can only serve its purpose if international actors are integrated enough to work for the collective good of the global community.
