The Mystical Music of Hunza by Bazm-i-Liqa

Come and embark on a spiritual journey to experience a mystical music gathering from the Valley of Hunza, on 21st July 2018 from 6pm to 8pm, at the Faraar Gallery, T2F.

In the midst of today’s world torn apart by threats of violence, extremism and intolerance, sufi teachings, especially through sufi music, are spreading the message of peace, universal brotherhood, love and forbearance and enhancing the emotional, ethical and spiritual health of human society.

Deriving their inspiration from the universal humanistic teachings of Allama Nasiruddin Nasir Hunzai, the Bazm-i-Liqa group of artists combines the poetry of Sufi Masters of Central and South Asia, such as Mawlana Rumi, Amir Khusrow, Nasir Khusrow and Allama Nasiruddin Nasir Hunzai through the powerful medium of traditional music, performed on rubab a & daff. In their gathering, the combination of mystical poems in Urdu, Burushaski and Persian languages are recited in sequence with zikr to enhance the feelings of humility, ecstasy and unity.

Various delegations of Bazm-i Liqa have performed at Rafi Peer Mystic Music Festival and Lok Virsa programs in Pakistan and toured abroad in France.

Bazm-i Liqa (mystic assembly for the vision of the beloved) is an arts and cultural promotion society working for preservation and dissemination of sufi music tradition among the younger generations living in the cultural areas of Gilgit, Hunza and Chitral amidst the Karakoram & Hindukush mountains.
