About the event:
With COVID at large and cases on the rise, this Month’s Science Ka Adda is a dedicated awareness video; join them as they recount the experiences of patients, and doctors at the front lines. The Second Wave is not a title or a number on the screen, but a glaring promise of an altered reality, if not curbed.

Speakers:
Dr. Faisal Mahmood
Dr Syed Faisal Mahmood is the section head of Infectious Diseases at the Aga Khan University Hospital where he also heads the Infection Prevention unit. He is currently coordinating the hospital response to COVID-19 at the hospital as well as working with the government in the national response to the virus. Dr Mahmood’s areas of expertise include HIV and he has been actively involved in investigating the recent HIV outbreak in Sind. He continues to work closely with the WHO and the provincial and national programs for HIV and is strong advocate for stigma reduction and prevention of HIV in our marginalized groups.

Dr. Baakh
Dr. Baakh is an MBBS doctor with a year of internship experience. Since the start of the pandemic at March she’s been working at the Field Isolation Center @ expo initially as a volunteer and now as a part of the Sindh Government.
She’s overseen various departments at the isolation center and now works as a medical officer in high dependency unit (HDU) and intensive care unit (ICU), she’s also been a part of the training program which includes training medical and paramedical staff to better equip them with scenarios they may face in a Covid unit.

Laiba Zainab
Graduated in the Digital Media Program at the Center for Excellence in Journalism in IBA Karachi, Ms. Laiba Zainab has worked as a reporter with different Pakistani media outlets and is currently associated with a digital platform, Sujag, as Production Editor. In addition to her reporting, she has produced videos on transgender rights, sexual harassment, feminism, and politics.

Farjad Mehdi
Farjad Mehdi is an Electrical Engineer from Habib University. I have been working as a Project Engineer at WAH Solar.

Sidra Khan
Sidra is a freelance journalist, peace activist, working for survivors of domestic violence.
